Corners to be experienced
In the world of architecture and interior design, we often focus on creating spacious and functional spaces. However, sometimes, the true essence of a home is found in spaces collected with smaller and more welcoming details, in what we could call “corners”. These corners are intimate and warm atmospheres that are carefully designed to bring unique comfort and personality to a space. In this article, we explore the most important corner of the project in Montjuic, where we understand the need to create a corner in which to develop a large part of family life.
The essence of cozy corners
Imagine coming home after a long day of work and immediately feeling a sense of calm and well-being as you enter a cozy corner. These spaces are designed to be shelters within your own home, places where you can relax, unwind and feel completely at ease.
A good example of this is our project in Montjuic, the kitchen is located at the center of the home, bringing together most of a family's activities. We knew that the kitchen would not only be a place to cook, but also a space to work, study, chat, play and much more. To achieve this, we introduced a bench on the side of the table, this bench not only offers comfortable seating, but also serves as additional storage. In addition, by gluing the bench to the wall, we managed to make the table move and no longer be the center of the space, but rather became a corner to be in.
Creating unique atmospheres
The key to designing cozy corners lies in selecting the right objects and materials that fit the function and aesthetics of the space in question. The composition, the size of the objects, the separation between them, the color palette creates an emotional place. Warm tones and natural materials combined to achieve a welcoming and relaxing environment.
In addition, decorative objects and details also play a crucial role in creating the atmosphere of a cozy corner. Some soft cushions on the bench, shelves with books and souvenirs, a lamp and a selection of plants can transform an ordinary corner into a place to spend time.
The Power of Personality in Design
Each cozy corner has its own personality and tells a story depending on who you live with. Being a family with children, the space had to be adapted to the uses they were going to give it. The kitchen corner became a multifunctional space that invited people to spend moments together while cooking, studying or chatting.
In conclusion, cozy corners are emotional spaces within a home. Places where the particular composition of the elements conveys a sense of refuge and comfort.
