Level house
We design a continuous interconnection of spaces: living room, dining room, kitchen, terrace, etc. In other words, we create different heights that adapt to various uses in a completely open space. We utilize the highest level to align with the terrace’s height, extending into the house to create a seamless transition between the interior and exterior.
The concrete floor is placed in the more heavily used areas and, thanks to its thermal mass, provides warmth in winter and coolness in summer. On the other hand, the oak floor adds warmth to the home; the sharp change in materiality perceptually creates a clear boundary that distinguishes two completely different yet connected spaces. Everything is painted white to create unity. Due to the large windows, natural light floods the apartment, making it feel closer to the sky than the ground.
